The qualifications provides an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills around supporting individuals with a learning disability. This qualification will cover subjects including the nature and characteristics of learning disability, support, legislation, communication and person centred planning. The qualification is aimed at managers, unsupervised carers or senior level workers that are in contact with or are supporting individuals with learning disabilities as part of their job role. To undertake this qualification, you will need to be working or volunteering in a setting to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
